Streaming platform Rakuten TV has signed a partnership with Prime Video to roll out several FAST channels across Germany, Spain and Italy.
The agreement, revealed during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, includes the launch of three Rakuten-owned channels—Rakuten TV Romance, Planet Action and 21 Jump Street—on Prime Video in Germany. Another channel, Alerta Cobra, will debut soon in Spain and Italy, with additional channels and markets expected to follow.
The partnership helps Rakuten TV broaden the distribution of its FAST portfolio across Europe while strengthening the activities of its B2B unit, Rakuten TV Enterprise. The channels feature a range of content, from romance films and action movies to the classic TV series 21 Jump Street. The upcoming Alerta Cobra channel is based on the action series Alarm für Cobra 11, centred on a specialised police unit tackling high-speed chases and major crime cases.
Rakuten says the collaboration with Amazon, managed through Rakuten TV Enterprise, will extend its FAST distribution footprint and strengthen its position in the connected-TV ecosystem. By enabling the integration of FAST channels into Prime Video, the initiative also creates new opportunities for content owners to reach wider audiences.
Beyond its own platform, Rakuten TV’s FAST channels are also available on major TV ecosystems such as Samsung TV+, LG Channels, Hisense VIDAA, TCL Channels, Xiaomi TV+, Free and Netgem.
