Telenet Brings HBO Max into Its Integrated Streaming Ecosystem

0

Telenet is expanding its entertainment proposition in Belgium by allowing customers to subscribe to HBO Max directly through the operator, bringing another major streaming service into its integrated offering.

The HBO Max app was already accessible through the Telenet TV box, but the new agreement takes the integration further. Customers can now activate, manage and pay for their HBO Max subscription directly through MyTelenet, with the cost appearing on their regular Telenet bill.

According to Telenet, this makes it the first telecom operator in Belgium to integrate HBO Max into its own billing platform. The move is designed to simplify subscription management as consumers increasingly combine traditional television with multiple streaming services.

Three HBO Max plans are available: Basic with Ads for €6.99 per month, Standard for €10.99 and Premium for €15.99. Customers can upgrade, downgrade or cancel their subscription through the MyTelenet website or app.

Stijn Eulaerts, VP Premium Entertainment at Telenet, said the operator wants to give customers greater flexibility while keeping entertainment services easy to manage from a central platform.

For Warner Bros. Discovery, the agreement provides another distribution route for HBO Max in Belgium. Tim Beudel, Director Affiliate Sales Benelux, highlighted the service’s portfolio of HBO Originals, films, documentaries and major franchises, including the upcoming Harry Potter series, scheduled to premiere around Christmas.

The addition further develops Telenet’s role as a streaming aggregator, combining traditional television and third-party streaming subscriptions within a single customer ecosystem.
