wedotv is expanding its partnership with Deutsche Telekom by adding two more FAST channels to MagentaTV in Germany. The new services, wedotv Sports and wedotv True Stories, join the existing wedotv Movies channel on the platform.
Alongside the channel expansion, wedotv is introducing Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) across all three services. The technology enables advertising inventory to be booked programmatically while allowing campaigns to be targeted more precisely to different viewers.
The move marks the next stage of a partnership that began in 2022, when wedotv Movies first became available on MagentaTV. Four years later, the relationship is broadening from content distribution into more advanced addressable advertising capabilities.
Each channel targets a distinct audience. wedotv Movies offers international films and series, while wedotv Sports combines live sporting events, highlights and documentaries. wedotv True Stories focuses on factual programming spanning society, history, crime and real-life stories.
Philipp Rotermund, CEO and Co-Founder of wedotv, said the introduction of Dynamic Ad Insertion opens new advertising opportunities while the additional German-language channels give MagentaTV viewers greater programming choice.
Deutsche Telekom also sees FAST as an increasingly important part of its television proposition. Dr Jörg Richartz, Vice President Sales & Marketing TV, highlighted the combination of additional content and addressable advertising as creating value for both viewers and advertisers.
The expansion illustrates how FAST distribution is increasingly developing beyond simply adding free channels to connected-TV platforms, with programmatic and addressable advertising technology becoming a more important part of the commercial model.
