Samsung TV Plus Expands French FAST Offering with Six New Broadcaster Channels

0

Samsung TV Plus is strengthening its free, ad-supported streaming offering in France with the addition of six channels throughout October, expanding its partnerships with public service and commercial broadcasters.

The expansion includes three channels featuring programming whose rights are managed by France Télévisions distribution, alongside content from France 24, TF1 and Le Figaro. The move reinforces Samsung TV Plus’s strategy of bringing established French television brands and locally relevant programming to its FAST platform.

The new line-up includes Cuisine Ouverte, the culinary programme hosted by chef Mory Sacko, and Le jour où tout a basculé, the popular French docudrama series that has built a substantial digital following since its original launch in 2011.

Samsung TV Plus is also introducing On n’est pas couché, the late-night current affairs and entertainment talk show hosted by Laurent Ruquier, alongside TF1’s Confessions Intimes, which offers more than 300 episodes exploring personal relationships and everyday life.

The news and factual entertainment offering is expanding with France 24, providing French-language international news and investigative reporting, and Le Figaro TV, which focuses on culture, history, heritage, lifestyle, debate and analysis.

Antoine Chotard, Country Lead France and MENA at Samsung TV Plus EMEA, said the additions strengthen the platform’s position in the French FAST market by making familiar and trusted broadcasting brands available without a subscription. He emphasised the importance of public service broadcaster partnerships in attracting local audiences.

The expansion highlights the growing role of FAST platforms as an additional distribution channel for established broadcasters. By combining recognisable French programming with free access, Samsung TV Plus is seeking to broaden its audience while strengthening its position in an increasingly competitive connected TV market.
