Apple Introduces Next-Generation Apple TV 4K with AI-Powered Siri

0

Apple has unveiled the fourth generation of Apple TV 4K, introducing a redesigned Siri experience powered by Apple Intelligence, enhanced home entertainment capabilities and deeper smart home integration.

The new streaming device features Siri AI, a more conversational assistant designed to transform how viewers search for and discover content. Through a full-screen interface, users can ask natural-language questions, explore recommendations and receive personalised suggestions based on their interests.

Apple has also introduced built-in far-field microphones, allowing users to interact with Siri hands-free without relying on the Siri Remote. Viewers can ask questions about programmes while watching, with answers appearing in a discreet overlay that avoids interrupting playback.

The assistant supports contextual queries, including questions about award-winning shows, filming locations and age suitability. When paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone, Siri AI can also use personal context to respond to requests such as finding a programme recommended by a friend.

Beyond content discovery, the new Apple TV 4K delivers improved performance and enhanced home theatre capabilities. Users can connect four HomePod mini 2 or second-generation HomePod speakers to create an immersive surround sound setup, extending Apple’s ambitions in the connected home entertainment market.

The device also strengthens its position as a smart home hub, with Apple Intelligence-generated descriptions of camera activity, summarised notifications through the Home app and expanded controls for connected accessories and automated scenes.

Bob Borchers, Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing, described the new device as the company’s most immersive home theatre offering, highlighting conversational content discovery, hands-free voice control and tighter integration across Apple’s home ecosystem.

The Apple TV 4K (4th generation) is available for pre-order in the US and 29 additional countries and regions, with retail availability beginning November 13, 2026, at $299 (€267). Siri AI is also available in beta on second-generation Apple TV 4K devices and newer models, initially supporting English in eight markets, including the US, UK, Australia and Canada.

The launch reflects Apple’s broader strategy of integrating generative AI into the television experience, positioning voice assistants as increasingly important interfaces for content discovery, streaming navigation and connected home management.
