WELTN24 has extended its digital terrestrial television (DTT) distribution agreement with Media Broadcast, ensuring the continued availability of its news programming across Germany’s terrestrial television network.
The renewal reinforces the long-standing partnership between the broadcaster and Germany’s leading DTT infrastructure provider, maintaining nationwide access to WELT’s news and information services through terrestrial transmission.
While streaming and connected TV continue to grow, DTT remains an important distribution platform for millions of households, particularly for free-to-air news and public-interest content. The extension highlights the ongoing relevance of terrestrial broadcasting as part of a broader multi-platform distribution strategy.
For Media Broadcast, the agreement further strengthens its role as a key infrastructure partner for broadcasters operating within Germany’s DVB-T2 ecosystem. For WELTN24, it ensures stable nationwide reach while complementing its digital, streaming, and online distribution channels.
The deal reflects how traditional broadcast infrastructure continues to coexist alongside newer digital delivery models, particularly for live news content where reliability and broad accessibility remain critical.
