Orange Belgium has selected Zappware to power its new Android TV set-top box, strengthening its television offering with a more modern and feature-rich entertainment experience.
Built on Android TV, the new platform combines live television, streaming applications and personalised content discovery within a single interface. Zappware’s software will provide the user experience, content aggregation and service management capabilities, helping Orange Belgium deliver a more seamless connected TV experience to its subscribers.
The deployment reflects the growing shift among European telecom operators toward Android TV-based ecosystems, allowing providers to accelerate innovation while giving customers access to popular streaming services alongside traditional pay-TV content. By leveraging Google’s platform, operators can reduce development complexity while benefiting from a broad application ecosystem.
For Zappware, the agreement further strengthens its position as a technology partner for telecom operators seeking flexible, cloud-enabled television solutions. The company continues to expand its footprint across Europe by supporting next-generation user interfaces, personalised recommendations and advanced TV service management.
The partnership highlights the continued evolution of operator TV platforms, where software providers are playing an increasingly important role in delivering integrated entertainment experiences that combine broadcast television, streaming services and connected applications.
