Disney+ has significantly expanded its localisation capabilities by introducing support for 17 additional languages, bringing the platform’s total to 58 audio languages as part of its ongoing effort to make streaming more accessible to audiences worldwide.
The update also enhances the platform’s user experience with support for more than 30 interface languages and up to 42 subtitle and closed-caption languages. Newly added languages include Arabic, Croatian, Hebrew, Thai, Indonesian, Malay, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, with availability varying across user interface, audio and subtitle options depending on the language.
One of the most notable additions is a right-to-left interface designed for languages such as Arabic and Hebrew, providing a more natural navigation experience for millions of users. The rollout reflects Disney’s broader localisation strategy as it continues to expand internationally and make its content easier to discover and enjoy across different regions.
As competition intensifies among global streaming platforms, localisation has become a key differentiator. By investing in broader language support and accessibility features, Disney+ is strengthening its appeal to international audiences while enabling its growing catalogue of local productions to reach viewers beyond their home markets.
