UK broadcaster 5 and streaming platform Pluto TV have struck a simulcast agreement to broadcast two major snooker events to audiences in the UK and internationally.
The partnership will begin with The John Virgo Trophy on April 11–12, featuring leading players including Ronnie O’Sullivan, Mark Williams, John Higgins and Stephen Hendry. The tournament will stream live on Pluto TV, while UK viewers can also watch via 5 Action and the broadcaster’s streaming app.
Coverage will continue with the World Seniors Snooker Championship from May 6–10. The event will air on 5 in the UK, with Pluto TV extending distribution across multiple international markets, including North America, Europe, Latin America and Australia.
This year’s tournament lineup includes a mix of established and returning names such as O’Sullivan, Reanne Evans, Stuart Bingham and Jimmy White. 5 will also introduce additional coverage through a second-table stream on its digital platform.
The deal reflects a broader push to expand the reach of niche sports through combined linear and streaming distribution, bringing live events to wider and more diverse audiences.
