Women’s sports broadcaster W-Sport has launched its 24-hour channel on Amazon Prime Video in Belgium, expanding its European streaming presence following earlier launches in France and the Netherlands. The agreement gives Belgian viewers access to live and on-demand women’s sports coverage through a monthly subscription priced at €1.99.
The launch marks another step in W-Sport’s international distribution strategy, strengthening its partnership with Amazon and extending the availability of dedicated women’s sports programming across European streaming markets.
Through Prime Video, subscribers in Belgium can access a continuous schedule of live sporting events, replays, original productions and documentaries. The service is designed to provide year-round visibility for women’s competitions across multiple disciplines.
Football represents a central component of W-Sport’s programming portfolio. Its coverage includes England’s Barclays Women’s Super League, Germany’s Frauen-Bundesliga and DFB Pokal, Italy’s Serie A Women and Coppa Italia Women, the Gainbridge Super League in the United States, and Sweden’s OBOS Damallsvenskan.
Beyond football, the channel broadcasts a diverse selection of women’s sporting competitions, including netball, athletics, baseball, cycling, equestrian events, softball, sailing and triathlon. Original programming and documentaries complement the live schedule, highlighting athletes and stories from across women’s sport.
The Belgian launch also brings major international competitions to local audiences. Programming around the launch included the Longines Global Champions League showjumping season finale in Rabat, Morocco, featuring Belgian rider Emilie Conter, alongside Women’s Super League football fixtures.
Kelly Butler, Chief Executive Officer of W-Sport, welcomed the expansion, highlighting the importance of the company’s growing relationship with Amazon and its ambition to make women’s sports programming more accessible to audiences throughout Europe.
The agreement follows W-Sport’s introduction on Prime Video in France and the Netherlands in July 2026, where the channel was also made available as a monthly add-on subscription. The Belgian rollout further develops the broadcaster’s distribution through established streaming platforms.
W-Sport was co-founded by Butler, a former senior executive at Fox Sports and Setanta Africa, and Michael O’Rourke, founder of Setanta Sports and Chief Executive Officer of Premier Sports. The company has focused on building an international television offering dedicated exclusively to women’s sport.
According to W-Sport, its channel and streaming player reach audiences across 120 countries and territories, while its linear television service is available in more than 45 million households worldwide. The broadcaster also distributes content through its dedicated W-Sport Player and agreements with television operators.
For Prime Video, the addition expands the range of specialised sports programming available through its subscription channel offering, giving customers access to competitions that may receive less coverage from mainstream sports broadcasters.
The partnership reflects the growing commercial importance of women’s sports rights and dedicated streaming services. By expanding through established distribution platforms, W-Sport can increase the visibility of women’s competitions while offering fans a convenient way to access international sporting events.
