Polish cable operator Vectra has expanded its television offering with the nationwide commercial launch of two hybrid 4K set-top boxes powered by ADB’s Graphyne platform. The new devices combine traditional cable television, IP-based broadcasting and streaming services within a unified viewing experience, giving subscribers greater flexibility in how they access entertainment.
The launch introduces two devices, the Vectra 4K BOX and Vectra 4K BOX PVR, designed to accommodate different viewing preferences while operating within the same service management environment.
Both models support DVB-C cable television, IPTV and OTT services, depending on network availability. This hybrid approach enables Vectra to deliver live television channels, video-on-demand programming and supported streaming applications through a single interface.
The standard Vectra 4K BOX provides an accessible entry point for customers seeking a straightforward television experience. It combines conventional linear broadcasting with digital entertainment features, allowing viewers to navigate between live programming and on-demand content without switching devices.
For subscribers seeking additional functionality, the Vectra 4K BOX PVR includes a built-in 1TB hard drive, enabling users to record television programmes and watch them later. The enhanced model retains the features of the standard device while introducing local recording capabilities.
Both devices are powered by ADB’s Graphyne platform, which provides a common technology environment for managing television services across different delivery networks. The architecture allows Vectra to maintain a consistent user experience while supporting multiple subscription options.
Krzysztof Sokolik, Chief Marketing Officer at Vectra, explained that the company’s priority is to provide a modern television experience adapted to different customer needs and viewing habits. He highlighted the importance of offering both an accessible everyday television solution and a more advanced option with additional functionality.
The deployment also represents another milestone in Vectra’s longstanding partnership with ADB, which spans several decades. The companies have continued collaborating as television distribution has evolved from conventional cable services towards hybrid and IP-based delivery.
Małgorzata Ott, Chief Executive Officer of ADB, emphasised the company’s commitment to supporting Vectra’s ongoing service development. She highlighted the importance of combining technology, operational expertise and long-term collaboration to meet changing subscriber expectations.
The rollout forms part of Vectra’s broader strategy to modernise its television services and strengthen its position in Poland’s competitive telecommunications market. The operator currently serves more than 1.5 million households, offering broadband connectivity, digital television, video-on-demand and telecommunications services.
Vectra has also been developing its TV Smart platform, which enables customers to access entertainment through set-top boxes, mobile applications, connected televisions and web browsers. The new hybrid devices complement this strategy by extending the capabilities of traditional television equipment.
The launch reflects the continued convergence of broadcast television and streaming technology. As operators seek to simplify content access and retain subscribers, hybrid set-top boxes provide a way to integrate established pay-TV services with internet-delivered entertainment.
For ADB, the deployment demonstrates the role of its Graphyne technology in helping television operators transition towards more flexible service architectures while maintaining compatibility with existing cable infrastructure.
