DNA Launches Flexible Entertainment Subscription Bundle

0

Finnish telecom operator DNA has introduced DNA Viihdemix, a new subscription service that allows customers to combine streaming platforms, podcasts and audiobooks under a single monthly payment. Launched on 27 October 2026, the offering enables subscribers to select three entertainment services and change their combination every month.

The launch represents DNA’s latest effort to simplify digital entertainment consumption as audiences increasingly subscribe to multiple platforms to access their preferred films, television series and audio content.

DNA Viihdemix brings together eight entertainment services: Netflix, HBO Max, Viaplay, SkyShowtime, Apple TV, Podme, Storytel and BritBox. Customers can select any three services from the available portfolio, creating a personalised package that combines video streaming with podcast and audiobook subscriptions.

A defining feature of the offering is its flexibility. Rather than committing to the same combination of platforms over an extended period, subscribers can switch their selected services monthly, allowing them to adapt their package to changing viewing and listening preferences.

Customers can also expand their subscription by adding further services or upgrading to more comprehensive subscription tiers. All selected services are managed through a single subscription and monthly bill, reducing the complexity of maintaining several separate entertainment subscriptions.

DNA Viihdemix is available as a standalone product, meaning customers do not need an existing DNA mobile, broadband or television subscription to access the service. The operator has positioned the offering as an entertainment subscription management solution rather than an exclusive benefit for its telecommunications customers.

According to DNA’s Digital Life study, 52% of consumers using paid entertainment services would like the ability to switch between platforms within a single subscription, while 40% would prefer to consolidate their entertainment payments into one bill.

Mikko Saarentaus, DNA’s Vice President responsible for Entertainment and Value-Added Services, highlighted the growing fragmentation of digital entertainment. As popular programming becomes distributed across different services, consumers are increasingly managing several subscriptions simultaneously.

The new offering aims to address these challenges by providing greater control over subscription choices while simplifying billing and service management. DNA believes this combination of flexibility and convenience can respond to changing consumer expectations in Finland’s competitive entertainment market.

The introduction of Viihdemix follows DNA’s launch of its broader DNA Viihde entertainment platform on 19 October 2026. That service brings television channels, streaming applications, music, podcasts, radio, audiobooks, gaming and karaoke together through a unified interface and dedicated entertainment device.

Together, the two launches demonstrate DNA’s strategy of extending its role beyond traditional telecommunications and television distribution. While DNA Viihde focuses on integrating entertainment experiences through a single device, Viihdemix addresses the commercial side of digital consumption by consolidating subscriptions and allowing customers to change services more easily.

The development reflects a wider shift towards flexible entertainment aggregation, as telecommunications operators seek to position themselves as intermediaries between streaming providers and consumers. By combining subscription management with established entertainment brands, DNA is creating an additional opportunity to strengthen customer relationships in an increasingly fragmented digital market.
