ZDF Studios has concluded a long-term content agreement with Hungarian broadcaster TV2 Group, granting access to more than 1,200 hours of drama programming for the Hungarian market.

The multi-year deal covers free-to-air, pay-TV and video-on-demand rights, allowing TV2 to distribute the content across its linear networks and digital platforms. The package spans a wide range of genres, including established German drama classics, romantic television films and contemporary scripted series.

Among the titles included are enduring favourites such as The Black Forest Clinic and Derrick, alongside popular romantic movie brands including Rosamunde Pilcher, Inga Lindström, Spring Fever, Lena Lorenz and Katie Fforde. The agreement also features family-oriented series such as Our Charly and Hello Robbie, as well as crime and action-driven dramas like SOKO Wien and Alpine Rescue. Medical series including Mountain Medic and Dr. Nice are also part of the extensive catalogue.

Mirela Nastase, Director Drama at ZDF Studios, said the agreement reinforces the long-standing collaboration between the two companies and brings together a portfolio of well-known productions that have resonated with audiences internationally. She expressed confidence that Hungarian viewers would respond positively to the collection.

Gábor Fischer, Chief Content Officer at TV2 Group, highlighted the importance of premium drama to the broadcaster’s audience and said the deal strengthens TV2’s content offering across both traditional and digital platforms.

ZDF Studios operates as the commercial distribution and production arm of German public broadcaster ZDF, managing international sales, co-productions and licensing for a catalogue that includes scripted series, television films, documentaries and children’s content.
