German streaming provider waipu.tv has expanded its programming line-up through a new content agreement with Sony Pictures Entertainment Deutschland, bringing three curated Sony channels and a large library of additional titles to the platform.
As part of the partnership, waipu.tv subscribers now have access to the channels Series Universe, Retro Serien and Movie Universe, which together introduce more than 250 films and around 30 series comprising over 100 seasons from Sony’s catalogue. All content is available both as linear channels and on demand via the waiputhek.
Series Universe focuses on contemporary US drama, crime and action programming, featuring series such as Justified, The Shield and L.A.’s Finest. Retro Serien presents a collection of classic television, including long-running favourites like Bewitched, Charlie’s Angels, Dawson’s Creek, I Dream of Jeannie and Parker Lewis Can’t Lose. Movie Universe draws on the breadth of Sony Pictures’ film library, offering a broad selection of titles across genres and decades, from action and drama to family entertainment.
Michael Marberg, Head of New-TV Partnerships at waipu.tv, described Sony Pictures as an important and valued partner and noted that the arrival of these channels marks a significant enhancement to the platform’s programming. He added that further content expansions are expected in the coming weeks, ensuring a continuous pipeline of new premium titles for viewers.
