RTL Group continues its tech-driven shift in the adtech space. Its subsidiary Smartclip, in collaboration with Realytics, has announced the launch of Sidekicks, an agentic AI platform designed to automate tasks within the media ecosystem.
Developed to meet the specific needs of digital advertising professionals, the platform is built for seamless integration into existing workflows, particularly for cross-media operations. Sidekicks features a suite of customizable AI agents referred to as Sidekicks that support teams with repetitive or complex tasks such as planning, campaign management, and performance analysis.
The platform is the result of a joint development effort between Smartclip (a specialist in ad automation) and Realytics, two well-established players in the European adtech landscape.
Sidekicks is currently being rolled out internally. A pilot program is underway within RTL Deutschland and RTL AdAlliance, two key divisions of the group, to test use cases in media planning and campaign management. The platform will be made available to Smartclip and Realytics clients in a second phase, before a broader industry rollout.
