SkyShowtime introduces new on-demand streaming channels

SkyShowtime has unveiled a new collection of curated on-demand streaming channels, offering subscribers a viewing experience that groups together some of the platform’s most popular series, films, and franchises.

The new feature launches today in Sweden and will roll out to other SkyShowtime markets across Europe in 2026. It will be available at no additional cost to users subscribed to the Standard with Ads, Standard, and Premium tiers.

The on-demand channels are designed to provide a continuous, TV-like experience inside SkyShowtime’s streaming environment. Each channel focuses on either a specific franchise or a genre theme, making it easier for viewers to browse and discover content.

The new offering draws from SkyShowtime’s rich catalogue, combining titles from Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks Animation, Showtime, Sky Studios, Peacock, and SkyShowtime Originals.

This content mix positions SkyShowtime as a one-stop destination for entertainment that spans family, drama, comedy, and action — blending iconic American series with European originals under one platform.

According to SkyShowtime CEO Monty Sarhan, the goal of the new feature is to simplify content discovery and provide audiences with a new way to enjoy their favourite shows and films.

“This launch offers a different way of discovering and enjoying all the great content that SkyShowtime has to offer,” Sarhan said. “It gives our users a new, effortless way to lean back and watch, complementing our already rich on-demand catalogue.”

The new streaming channels are designed to appeal to viewers who prefer a traditional linear viewing experience, allowing them to jump straight into curated streams rather than manually browsing through individual titles.

This latest innovation builds on SkyShowtime’s strategy to enhance engagement and retention by blending on-demand flexibility with the familiarity of scheduled programming. The curated channels will also support SkyShowtime’s ad-supported tier, giving advertisers new opportunities to reach audiences in brand-safe, thematic environments.

As SkyShowtime continues to expand its European footprint — now available in more than 20 markets — the company has been investing in improved user interfaces, personalised recommendations, and locally relevant programming. The new channels are expected to play a key role in that evolution, offering a bridge between traditional TV habits and the freedom of modern streaming.

Following the rollout in Sweden, SkyShowtime plans to launch the curated channels in additional territories throughout 2026, tailoring the line-up to local preferences and available rights.
