Samsung debuts Perplexity AI-Powered TV App to enhance smart viewing experience

0

Samsung Electronics has introduced the Perplexity AI TV App, an artificial intelligence–powered experience designed to enhance how users search for, discover, and engage with content on their smart TVs. The app integrates directly into Samsung’s Vision AI Companion, expanding the company’s broader strategy of bringing generative AI features to the largest screens in the home.

The Perplexity TV App uses the power of Perplexity’s real-time answer engine, which leverages trusted sources to deliver accurate, contextual responses to user queries. Going beyond traditional voice search, the app enables viewers to ask complex questions, conduct deeper research, and receive follow-up suggestions that encourage more immersive exploration — all through an intuitive, conversational interface.

The integration is exclusive to Samsung TVs, marking a new phase in the company’s AI-driven user experience ecosystem.

“The Perplexity AI-powered app, now available exclusively on Samsung TVs, expands our Vision AI Platform with a more personalised and intelligent viewing experience,” said Dan Glassman, Senior Director and Head of New Business Development at Samsung Electronics. “Samsung is committed to bringing first-to-market innovations to our users, and this partnership with Perplexity represents a major step forward in redefining how audiences interact with their televisions.”
