German broadcaster Mainstream Media is strengthening its presence in the free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) market with the rollout of two new channels on Amazon Prime Video. Starting 4 November 2025, viewers across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) will be able to stream KultKrimi and Telenovela ZDF free of charge via Amazon’s platform.
“We’re delighted to see our two FAST channels debuting on Prime Video,” said Tim Werner, CEO of Mainstream Media. “This partnership opens another key distribution channel for our brands in the DACH market.”
KultKrimi offers a curated selection of iconic German crime dramas that shaped decades of television history. Viewers can rediscover celebrated series such as Derrick, Der Alte, Ein Fall für zwei, and Percy Stuart. With roughly 1,500 episodes in its library, the channel delivers a continuous mix of suspense, nostalgia, and retro entertainment for fans of classic detective stories.
Meanwhile, Telenovela ZDF targets lovers of romance and drama, bringing together some of ZDF’s most beloved telenovelas, including Bianca – Wege zum Glück, Julia – Wege zum Glück, Hanna – Folge deinem Herzen, and Alisa – Folge deinem Herzen. The channel provides an emotional viewing experience filled with enduring characters and love stories, available anytime at no cost.
By integrating with Prime Video’s FAST offering, Mainstream Media extends the reach of its ad-supported channels and strengthens its footprint across multiple connected TV ecosystems. The company’s portfolio of thematic channels is already accessible on major platforms such as Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels, Titan OS, VIDAA, waipu.tv, Pluto TV, Zattoo, and YouTube.
The addition of KultKrimi and Telenovela ZDF to Prime Video underlines Mainstream Media’s ongoing strategy to diversify its digital distribution network and meet audiences where they consume free, ad-supported content.
