German TV platform HD+ is extending its service to third-party streaming sticks and set-top boxes through the launch of its new HD+ Stream app, giving viewers without satellite access or compatible smart TVs a new way to enjoy HD content.
Initially available for Android-based devices, including waipu.tv, MagentaTV, and Google Chromecast, the app allows users to stream over 100 HD live channels and access around 120,000 on-demand titles from public and commercial broadcasters. Subscriptions cost €9.99 per month with the first month free and can be cancelled anytime. Users can also watch on two devices simultaneously and access the service across the EU at no extra cost.
According to Andreas Schulz, Head of Product Management at HD Plus, “HD+ Stream brings HD television to households using popular TV sticks, offering flexibility, quality, and freedom in how viewers watch their favourite channels.” Existing HD+ satellite customers can add streaming access for €3 per month.
The rollout builds on HD+’s expansion beyond satellite, following previous launches on major smart TV brands and the proprietary HD+ IP TV Stick. Support for additional streaming devices and manufacturers is planned later this year.
