Cartoon Classics FAST channel launches on Freeview

UK audiences now have access to a new 24/7 family animation destination with the debut of Cartoon Classics on Freeview Channel 214. Distributed by Global Distribution Services (GDS) and produced by Senseof.Media, the FAST channel delivers a curated mix of classic and contemporary animated shows to more than 18 million households across the country.

GDS, alongside its technical partner Synapse TV, powers over 140 channels across the UK’s Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) network. The platform employs advanced Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI) and a Consent Management Platform (CMP) compliant with IAB Europe’s Transparency and Consent Framework, ensuring seamless delivery, ad targeting, and full compliance with UK data protection standards.

Through this infrastructure, GDS guarantees high-quality broadcast performance and complete distribution for Cartoon Classics, bringing timeless animated favourites into every Freeview home.

Cartoon Classics serves as a round-the-clock family channel featuring more than 500 hours of premium animation. Its programming combines nostalgic titles with modern hits — from Danger Mouse and Count Duckula to Sonic X, Lego Legends of Chima, Nexo Knights, and The Smurfs. About 30% of the content will be refreshed regularly to keep the lineup dynamic and engaging.

Designed for co-viewing across generations, the channel offers entertainment for children, parents, and grandparents alike — a shared space where families can enjoy both classic series and newer favourites together.

Tanya Kronfli, Founder and Director at Global Distribution Services, said:“We’re thrilled to bring Cartoon Classics to Freeview Channel 214. This new addition celebrates animation that transcends generations and offers families a dedicated space for shared viewing.”

Vlad Grayvoronsky, Head of Business Development at Senseof.Media, added:“Having grown our FAST channel presence across the Americas, we’re excited to partner with GDS and Everyone TV to introduce Cartoon Classics to UK audiences — delivering stories that inspire smiles and bring families together through the joy of animation.”
