The Bundesliga has launched its first-ever FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) channel in the UK and Ireland through a partnership with Samsung TV Plus, expanding the German football league’s digital footprint in English-speaking markets.

The new 24/7 channel, which debuted with the FSV Mainz vs. Borussia Mönchengladbach match on December 3, provides free access to live Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 games, along with highlights, interviews, press conferences, and behind-the-scenes features. The initiative marks a key milestone in the Deutsche Fußball Liga’s (DFL) strategy to make German football more accessible to international audiences.

Under a multi-year partnership, Samsung TV Plus users across the UK and Ireland can now stream Bundesliga content without a subscription directly on Samsung smart TVs and compatible devices. Each week, the channel will broadcast live Friday night Bundesliga fixtures as well as one Bundesliga 2 match per kick-off slot — including Friday (17:30), Saturday (12:00 and 19:30), and Sunday (12:30 GMT).

Complementing live coverage, the channel will showcase exclusive programming such as match previews, post-game analysis, historical moments, and player stories, giving fans year-round access to Bundesliga content.

To support distribution and monetisation, the league has partnered with FAST technology provider Wurl, ensuring a robust streaming experience and ad-supported revenue model.

Peer Naubert, Chief Executive Officer of Bundesliga International, described the launch as a pivotal move in expanding fan engagement:“Our approach is as diverse as our fans – and this FAST channel is the next proof of that. With a Bundesliga channel on Samsung TV Plus, we’re taking another step in how the Bundesliga can be experienced in the UK: free, live, and closer than ever before.”

Naubert added that the initiative builds on the league’s recent UK partnerships and reflects its ongoing commitment to innovation and global accessibility.

“Following the strong response to our new UK partnerships earlier this year, we’re proud to expand our footprint once again. This launch shows that the Bundesliga doesn’t just talk about innovation – we deliver it, bringing world-class football to fans wherever they are.”
