Accedo and Magine Pro form joint venture to unify OTT SaaS businesses

0

Accedo and Magine Pro have announced plans to merge their SaaS-based streaming divisions into a new joint venture dedicated to delivering advanced OTT platform solutions. The move will combine Accedo One and Magine Pro’s SaaS operations to create what both companies describe as a global leader in cloud-based streaming services.

The newly formed company will integrate Accedo One’s platform and team with Magine Pro’s technology stack and client portfolio, focusing on supporting broadcasters, pay-TV providers, and direct-to-consumer streamers aiming to expand and monetise their OTT offerings.

While the joint venture will operate independently from Accedo Group, it will continue to benefit from Accedo’s international network, which will act as a strategic partner and reseller of its products and solutions.

Leadership of the new entity will include Markus Hejdenberg, currently CEO of Accedo One, who will step in as Chief Executive Officer, and Matthew Wilkinson, CEO of Magine Pro, who will take on the role of Chief Commercial Officer. Kamal Bherwani will serve as Chairman of the Board.

According to Accedo CEO Michael Lantz, the merger will enable both teams to consolidate expertise and accelerate product innovation and growth within a rapidly evolving streaming ecosystem. He noted that combining resources will allow the joint venture to deliver stronger, more scalable SaaS solutions to meet the demands of an increasingly competitive OTT market.

Matthew Wilkinson added that as the streaming sector matures, vendors are under growing pressure to help partners “build sustainable OTT businesses rather than just deliver technology.” The collaboration, he said, aligns perfectly with that market shift.

The new company will be headquartered in Stockholm, with operations expected to commence later this month, pending final regulatory approval anticipated before the end of December 2025.

By uniting two established players in OTT technology, the venture aims to position itself as a major global SaaS provider for streaming and pay-TV operators—delivering flexible, end-to-end tools for content management, monetisation, and user engagement across multiple platforms.
