wedotv expands its sports programming slate

wedotv, the free ad-supported streaming platform, is strengthening its commitment to sports by increasing its investment in programming rights for wedotv sports, its FTA/FAST channel available across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

As part of this strategy, wedotv sports has renewed its collaboration with HBA Media, the distributor of major international horse racing events. Through this agreement, the channel will broadcast more than 40 days of live racing, including the full Crown Jewels Racing portfolio with 20 premium global races. Viewers will also gain access to renowned international racing festivals, among them the Cheltenham Festival, Qatar Goodwood Festival, Skybet Ebor Festival and the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Beyond horse racing, the channel’s expanded lineup includes coverage from the Asian Tour—featuring events such as the Saudi Open, the Jakarta International Championship, the Philippine Open, the New Zealand Open and the International Series Japan. SailGP, the global high-speed foiling catamaran competition, will also be part of the offering, alongside emerging formats like Power Slap and Pro Bull Riding.

“Since launching wedotv sports in the DACH region in 2023, the channel has seen a tenfold increase in audience, showing the strong appetite for free sports content,” said Philipp Rotermund, co-CEO of wedotv. “We are delighted to renew agreements with key partners and to introduce fast-growing sports categories to our audience. Keeping the channel fresh and giving fans access to exciting sports from around the world remains central to our mission.”

The channel showcases a broad mix of German and international live events as well as weekly highlight shows covering football, Formula 1, eSports, martial arts and more. Its catalogue also includes documentaries spotlighting icons such as Tiger Woods, David Beckham and Michael Schumacher, along with profiles of globally recognised teams including Manchester United and other major national clubs.

wedotv sports is currently distributed in the DACH region through platforms such as Zattoo, Waipu.tv, LG Channels, Hotbird 13/E, Kabelio, Amazon, O2TV and VIDAA Smart TV
