YouTube has revealed plans to transform its YouTube TV service by launching a new system of genre-specific subscription options starting in early 2026. The update, announced via a blog post, aims to provide users with more control over both the content they watch and the cost of their subscription.
The company stated that it will roll out YouTube TV Plans, a new feature offering more than ten curated content bundles organized by genre. These will include packages focused on sports, news, family-friendly programming, and entertainment, moving away from the traditional “one-size-fits-all” model in favor of more flexible viewing options.
One of the standout offerings in this update is the YouTube TV Sports Plan, which will cater specifically to sports fans. According to the announcement, this package will include access to top sports networks such as FS1, NBC Sports Network, ESPN, and ESPN Unlimited, along with major broadcast channels.
Subscribers will also have the ability to personalize their experience further by adding premium sports content, including NFL Sunday Ticket and RedZone. Popular YouTube TV features like unlimited DVR, multiview, key plays, and fantasy view will remain available within these tailored plans.
