Starting this September, TF1+ is rolling out a new micropayment model on its streaming platform, offering viewers more choice beyond traditional advertising.
For as little as €0.69, users can watch shows ad-free instead of with ads, access episodes of series and TV movies before their official release and unlock exclusive bonus content tied to major TF1 events, like Star Academy live streams.For example, families watching The Voice can choose an ad-free version for €0.99, saving nearly 25 minutes of viewing time.
This new approach complements TF1’s advertising business model, creating sustainable additional revenues to fund premium content while giving viewers flexibility. Inspired by successful mobile gaming strategies, TF1+ positions itself with a unique pay-per-use alternative in the streaming landscape.
Claire Basini, TF1 Group’s Deputy CEO for BtoC activities, sums it up: “This innovation lets us embrace paid streaming with a distinctive, user-focused model, giving viewers the freedom to choose and only pay for what truly matters to them.”
